Ingredients
- MEATBALLS
- 3 slices white bread, crust cut off and cubed
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- SWEDISH GRAVY
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- chives, for garnish
How To Make swedish meatballs

Step 1Place the bread in a bowl and grate the onion into the bread. Add the milk. mix well. Let sit for 1 minute.

Step 2Add the ground beef and ground pork, the eggs, garlic salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Step 3Add the oil to a saucepan and brown the meatballs in batches until browned on all sides. They won't be done in the middle but will cook in the gravy. Remove the meatballs to a plate.

Step 4Add the butter to the same pan and whisk in the flour to make a roux.

Step 5Slowly pour in the beef stock. Add the meatballs back into the pan.

Step 6Cook 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream.

Step 7Serve over mashed potatoes and garnish with the chives.
