  • 1 can(s)
    20 oz pineapple chunks in juice
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 3 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 pkg
    hot dogs sliced on the diagonal into 11/2 pieces
  • 1/2
    green bell pepper cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 Tbsp
    corn starch
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 8 c
    hot cooked white rice

How to Make Sweat and Sour Hot Dogs with Rice


  1. Drain pineapple chunks and reserve juice in bowl. Stir juice with brown sugar, apple cider vinagar, soy sauce and garlic powder.
  2. In skillet heat oil over medium high heat. Cook hot dogs till lightly browned. Remove from skillet.
  3. Add pineapple juice mixture, drained pineapple chunks and chopped peppers to skillet.
  4. Heat on medium low 5 to 6 minutes. Uncovered.
  5. Beat cornstarch and water .Add to skillet stir constantly till thick. Add hot dogs and cook 4 minutes. Serve over rice.
