Ingredients

  • 1 can 20 oz pineapple chunks in juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlicpowder
  • 1 package hot dogs sliced on the diagonal into 11/2 pieces
  • 1/2 - green bell pepper cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 8 cups hot cooked white rice

How To Make sweat and sour hot dogs with rice

  • Step 1
    Drain pineapple chunks and reserve juice in bowl. Stir juice with brown sugar, apple cider vinagar, soy sauce and garlic powder.
  • Step 2
    In skillet heat oil over medium high heat. Cook hot dogs till lightly browned. Remove from skillet.
  • Step 3
    Add pineapple juice mixture, drained pineapple chunks and chopped peppers to skillet.
  • Step 4
    Heat on medium low 5 to 6 minutes. Uncovered.
  • Step 5
    Beat cornstarch and water .Add to skillet stir constantly till thick. Add hot dogs and cook 4 minutes. Serve over rice.
