Warm and comforting. I love this dish and it is quick and easy.

Ingredients

diced tomatoes (15 oz each)
2 Tbsp
sugar or splenda
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
pepper
4 Tbsp
butter
1 c
baking mix
6-8 Tbsp
milk

How to Make Stewed Tomatoes with Dumplings

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a large saucepan, combine the tomatoes, sugar, salt, pepper and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • 2In a small bowl, combine biscuit mix and milk. Drop batter in 4-6 mounds onto the tomatoes. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in a dumpling comes out clean (do not lift cover while simmering).
  • 3This may sound like a strange dish, but it is very tummy soothing and soul satisfying.
