Ingredients

  • 1
    squirrel, cut up
  • ·
    all purpose flour
  • ·
    salt and pepper
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 7 c
    boiling water
  • 1 tsp
    thyme
  • 1 c
    corn
  • 3
    potatoes, cubed
  • 3 medium
    onions, sliced
  • 2 c
    tomatoes, canned
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper

How to Make SQUIRREL STEW

Step-by-Step

  1. Dredge squirrel pieces in flour, salt, and pepper.
  2. Brown in butter.
  3. Add squirrel and all ingredients except the tomatoes to the boiling water.
  4. Cover and simmer for 1 to 2 hours.
  5. Add the tomatoes and continue to simmer for another hour.
