Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz.)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup long grain rice uncooked
  • 2 tablespoons Ancho chili powder
  • 1 pound ground beef

How To Make slow cooker meatball cabbage rolls

  • Step 1
    Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Place the cabbage head in the boiling water for about 3 minutes until the outer leaves begin to easily come off.
  • Step 2
    Pull off about 14 to 16 leaves. Remove the thick vein from the cabbage leaves. set aside.
  • Step 3
    Place 1/2 of the tomato sauce in a bowl. Add the onion, rice, chili powder, and some salt and pepper.
  • Step 4
    Place the ground beef on top and mix it in with your hands and roll into balls.
  • Step 5
    Place one ball of meat on top of each of the cabbage leaves.
  • Step 6
    Enclose the leaves around the meatballs. Lay in a slow cooker. Can stack them.
  • Step 7
    Pour the remaining tomato sauce over the top and cook for 8 hours.
