slow cooker lamb shanks

I experimented a few times before coming up with this sure fire way to serve lamb shanks. Tehy are so tender and yummy, I never have any leftover.

Ingredients
- 4 - lamb shanks
- - salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
- 3 - sliced carrots
- 1 - diced onion
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 can diced tomatoes drained
- 2 tablespoons fresh minced rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 - bay leaf
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 can mild flavored beer
- 1 1/2 cups orzo pasta, uncooked
How To Make slow cooker lamb shanks

Step 1Heat olive oil in pan. Salt and pepper lamb, brown on all sides and place in crock pot.

Step 2Add remaining ingredients except orzo. Cook on high for 2 hours. Then low for about 6 more hours.

Step 3Remove meat from crock and keep warm. Remove sauce and veggies from crock, place in non-stick frying pan, cook on high for about 15 minutes stirring to keep from burning, until some of the juice has cooked down. Add orzo cook for about 15-20 minutes or until softened. Blot with papertowels to remove excess oil. Serve lamb on top of orzo and veggies.
