This is a very old family recipe handed down from my Mom. My family loves it. I serve it with a salad on the side.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons bacon drippings or shortening
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2/3 cup finely chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 2 pounds raw or frozen shrimp chopped fine or ground
  • 1 - 101/2 oz. can of cream of mushroom
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper
  • 3 - drops tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon worchestshire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
  • - pastry for 2 crust pie

How To Make shrimp pie

  • Step 1
    Saute onion,green pepper, and celery in hot fat until soft but not brown.
  • Step 2
    Add shrimp; stir and simmer 5 min.
  • Step 3
    Add mushroom soup,flour and seasonings; simmer about 10 min.
  • Step 4
    Remove from heat add parsley.
  • Step 5
    Line small muffin pan with pastry.
  • Step 6
    Fill with shrimp mixture and cover with top crust.
  • Step 7
    Make cuts in topfor steam to escape.
  • Step 8
    Bake in hot (400 degree) oven 20 to 30 minutes or until top crust is golden brown.
