  • 2 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1 lb
    smoked sausage or kielbasa
  • 1 1/2 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1 box
    au gratin potatoes
  • 3 c
    hot water
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 4 c
    carrots, chopped
  • 20 oz bag(s)
    chopped broccoli
  • 3 c
    sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

How to Make Smoked Sausage Au Gratin Casserole


  1. Cook sausage and onion in oil until onion is tender. In the meantime, run frozen broccoli under running hot water to thaw.
  2. Add potatoes, water and pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in carrots and continue to simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  4. Add thawed broccoli and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  5. Finally, add cheddar, stirring just until cheese has melted.
  6. Serve immediately
