vegetable oil
1 lb
smoked sausage or kielbasa
1 1/2 c
onion, chopped
1 box
au gratin potatoes
3 c
hot water
1/4 tsp
black pepper
4 c
carrots, chopped
20 oz bag(s)
chopped broccoli
3 c
sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

How to Make Smoked Sausage Au Gratin Casserole

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cook sausage and onion in oil until onion is tender. In the meantime, run frozen broccoli under running hot water to thaw.
  • 2Add potatoes, water and pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • 3Stir in carrots and continue to simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  • 4Add thawed broccoli and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  • 5Finally, add cheddar, stirring just until cheese has melted.
  • 6Serve immediately
