Ingredients

  • 2 pounds extra large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 - large shallots, finely chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt (can be adjusted according to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red chili flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper, finely ground
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (in the asian aisle at grocery store)
  • 1 pound fresh broccoli (chopped) or green beans

How To Make quick and easy pan seared spicy garlic shrimp

  • Step 1
    Mix all ingredients by hand in a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    Add 1 tsp of olive oil to a wok or heavy non-stick pan. Heat over high heat until oil is very hot.
  • Step 3
    Add shrimp and stir quickly otherwise shallots and garlic will burn. Cook until shrimp are pink in color and firm to the touch. Approximately 3-4 minutes depending on how large your shrimp are. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Step 4
    Add 1 tsp of olive oil to remnants in pan. Add fresh broccoli pieces or green beans and stir fry until bright green in color and remove from heat. Serve with jasmine rice or couscous.
