portabella mushroom crust pizza

My husband is on a low carb diet, but loves pizza (and mushrooms)! This is my solution so he can eat the pizza he loves, but still adhere to the diet. I must admit, this has become one of my favorites too!

Ingredients For portabella mushroom crust pizza

  • 4
    large portabella mushroom caps
  • 6 oz
    jar pizza sauce
  • mozzarella cheese
  • onion, small chopped
  • pepperoni

How To Make portabella mushroom crust pizza

  • 1
    remove stems from mushrooms and scrape off gills with a spoon.
  • 2
    wipe off mushrooms with damp paper towel. Do not wash under running water as they will absorb the water.

    Cook on baking sheet, gill side down, at 400 degrees for 10 minutes
  • 4
    Remove from oven, turn gill side up and spread inside with pizza sauce. Add additional toppings as desired, ending with cheese.

    Bake an additional 15 minutes or until cheese bubbles.
