Ingredients

  • 1 - onion sauteed
  • 6 cups mashed potatoes
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 box pot pit or bow tie noodles cooked
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • - sour cream

How To Make pierogie casserol

  • Step 1
    Cook noodles until al dente, and drain
  • Step 2
    Saute onion in 4 tbs butter
  • Step 3
    make mashed potatoes as you normally do. Add salt and pepper.
  • Step 4
    Mix potatoes, onion, and 3/4 of the shredded cheese
  • Step 5
    In a greased casserol dish layer 1/2 of the cooked noodles. Top with half of the potatoe mix. Repeat layers. Sprinkle last of cheese on top
  • Step 6
    Bake at 375 for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Serve with sour cream.
