Mix potatoes, onion, and 3/4 of the shredded cheese
In a greased casserol dish layer 1/2 of the cooked noodles. Top with half of the potatoe mix. Repeat layers. Sprinkle last of cheese on top
Bake at 375 for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Serve with sour cream.
