We love these and have them during the summer when the beans are fresh & at the markets, and during the winter with frozen beans. We like these so much we can make a meal of just these beans with some cornbread!!

Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh small butterbeans
- 1 slice center cut bacon
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons light butter
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
How To Make our favorite butterbeans

Step 1Rinse, and pick through the butterbeans. Place in pot & cover with water about 1" above the beans.

Step 2Add remaining ingredients, and bring to a boil, stirring frequently; reduce heat to a simmer.

Step 3Stir the beans occasionally, and cook for about 1-2 hours, or until the beans are tender and the water is mostly reduced.
