We love these and have them during the summer when the beans are fresh & at the markets, and during the winter with frozen beans.

We like these so much we can make a meal of just these beans with some cornbread!!

  • 1 lb
    fresh small butterbeans
  • 1 slice
    center cut bacon
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 3 Tbsp
    light butter
  • 1 tsp
    sea salt
  • 1 tsp
    freshly ground pepper

How to Make Our favorite Butterbeans


  1. Rinse, and pick through the butterbeans. Place in pot & cover with water about 1" above the beans.
  2. Add remaining ingredients, and bring to a boil, stirring frequently; reduce heat to a simmer.
  3. Stir the beans occasionally, and cook for about 1-2 hours, or until the beans are tender and the water is mostly reduced.
