Necessity is the mother of invention.....and that is where this casserole came from...

prep time 1 Hr 30 Min
cook time 1 Hr
method ---
yield 4-6 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound smoked sausage
  • 1 can green beans
  • 7 large potatoes
  • 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese sharp
  • 8 ounces velveeta cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 small diced onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • - salt and pepper

How To Make necessity cassarole

  • Step 1
slice sausage and brown in skillet, with onion and garlic
  • Step 2
peel and slice potatoes thinly and place in a greased 9x13 baking dish, salt and pepper, add browned sausages, onion, and garlic. Then open green beans and drain, and add green beans. Add 1/2 cup of milk, and slice Velveeta cheese and lay on top, then top all of it with Sharp Cheddar.
  • Step 3
preheat oven to 350 degrees and cover baking dish with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, and uncover and allow to brown on top in oven.....if you want to cut baking time, parboil your potatoes or you can brown them in a skillet before baking and decrease milk by 1/2....this can also be made on the stove top, or in your slow cooker....but it is best when baked......
