navy beans and ham
My hubby loves ham and beans, and as much as I never really had them before, I made some alterations to what his mother used to make, and came up with this. He seems to enjoy it, and I must say I might have to agree! :)

Ingredients
- 16 ounces package navy beans
- 6-8 cups water
- 3/4 cup diced onion
- - salt and pepper
- - ham hock to season, and extra ham to add
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 tablespoon dark karo or molasses
How To Make navy beans and ham

Step 1Soak beans. Chop onion into crockpot. Put in ham hock but reserve extra ham. Add beans, water, mustard, sugar and karo. Cover and cook on high 6-8 hours or until beans are tender. Then add salt and pepper to taste, and reserved ham. Cook on low 1-2 hours.
