My mother's meatloaf was my inspiration...hers was awful!

  • 1 lb
    ground sirloin
  • 1/2 lb
    ground veal
  • 1/2 lb
    ground pork
  • 1 pkg
    uncle bens original wild rice
  • 1/2 c
    chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 pkg
    meatloaf seasoning mix
  • 2 c
    seasoned bread crumbs
  • 3
  • 3/4 c
  • 1/2
    diced sweet cooking onion
  • 1 1/2 c
    sliced fresh musrooms
  • 3 Tbsp
    minced garlic
  • 2 pkg
    brown mushroom gravy

How to Make My Meatloaf


  1. preheat oven at 350
  2. cook Uncle Bens rice as directed
  3. mix meat, seasoning mix, 1 1/2 cups of bread crumbs, eggs,milk, onion, parsley, mushrooms(reserve 1/2 cup) and garlic
  4. When rice is done, let cool (if mixing by hand) and incorporate thoroughly into loaf mix.
  5. lightly grease 9x13 glass dish and form loaf along center
  6. dust the loaf with reserved bread crumbs
  7. place on center rack of oven and continue to bake @ 350 for 2 hours (approx)
  8. make both packs of gravy per instructions
  9. after 2 hrs, drizzle and coat loaf with 1/2 of the gravy mix, continue to bake about 1/2 hour. add remaining mushrooms to the rest of the gravy for serving.
  10. slice and serve with mashed potatoes, a vegetable and remaining gravy. Enjoy!
