Ingredients
- 4 slices thick sour dough bread
- olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 pound button mushrooms, sliced
- 1 small shallot, minced
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme
- salt and pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 teaspoons white wine
- 3 tablespoons heavy cream
- fresh parsley, minced
How To Make mushroom toast

Step 1Preheat oven 350 degrees F. Brush the bread with a little olive oil and season with salt. Place the bread in the oven to get the ends crispy and toasted a bit.

Step 2Add the butter to a saute pan. Add the mushrooms, shallots and thyme and cook until mushrooms have given up their moisture. Season with salt and pepper. Add the garlic and cook 1 minute. Add the white wine and let most evaporate.

Step 3Add the heavy cream and cook for a minute or two. Taste and adjust seasoning. Spoon over toast and top with parsley.
