My mother made this regularly when I was growing up. Now my family enjoys it at least once a month.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1/2 pound ground pork or ground beef
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 slices bread, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt, ground mustard, sage, and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • - ketchup, optional

How To Make mom's meatloaf

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Put all ingredients except ketchup in a bowl. Mix well with hands, paying close attention to getting the meats thoroughly blended. Put meat mixture in a 9 x 5 loaf pan.
  • Step 3
    Bake, uncovered, for 75 minutes. If using ketchup, spread over top of loaf after it's been in the oven for 60 minutes. Drain fat from loaf pan and serve.
