My mom made this recipe a lot while I was growing up. Being from Hungary she would often top this dish with buttered breadcrumbs or sprinkle with paprika. This recipe is so easy to make and should be served with warm bread or rolls and a salad.

Ingredients

  • 1 package medium noodles
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1-1/2 pound cooked ham cut into cubes
  • 6 - eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • - paprika, sweet mild (opt)

How To Make mom's ham and noodle casserole

  • Noodles  in boiling, salted water.
    Step 1
    Bring a large pan of water to a boil and add the noodles. Cook for 8 minutes. Drain and quickly toss with 4 tablespoons of the butter until melted.
  • Stirring in salt, pepper and ham.
    Step 2
    Stir in salt, pepper and ham. Pour into a greased 9x13 dish.
  • Eggs and milk mixed and poured over noodles.
    Step 3
    In a medium bowl, mix eggs and milk and pour over noodles. Dot with the remaining butter.
  • Ready to put in the oven.
    Step 4
    Bake at 375 degrees for about one hour and 15 minutes or until light brown on top. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
