english muffin, halves
1 lb
thinly sliced ham
1 lb
thinly sliced turkey
tomato, sliced
onion, thinly sliced
1- 10 oz. pkg
broccoli spears, cooked and drained ( can use 2 pkgs.)
3 Tbsp
3 Tbsp
2 c
milk or half & half
1-1 1/2 c
cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 tsp
paprika, to sprinkle on top

How to Make Marco Polos


  • 1Butter each muffin half and arrange on a cookie sheet. Broil to toast.
  • 2On each muffin, arrange ham slice, turkey, onion, tomato and 1-2 stalks broccoli. ( I don't use the onion)
  • 3To make cheese sauce, melt butter in saucepan, stir in flour, then milk stirring until thickened. Add cheddar cheese and salt; stir until melted.
  • 4Pour hot cheese sauce over warmed sandwiches ( warm 10 minutes in a covered pan at 325 degrees), then sprinkle with paprika.
  • 5Sandwiches can also be heated in the microwave after the cheese sauce has been poured over them.
