Every good Louisiana cook has several good Etouffee recipes....here is one.

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1 stick margarine or butter
  • 8 ounces can tomato soup
  • - louisiana red hot, salt and pepper to taste
  • - cooked long grain rice

How To Make louisiana shrimp etouffee

  • Step 1
    Saute shrimp, the "Louisiana trinity" (onion, bell pepper and celery) in margarine.
  • Step 2
    Add tomato soup and simmer about 30 to 40 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and Louisiana red hot sauce.
  • Step 3
    Serve over rice with Louisiana red hot sauce on the side in case additional is desired.
