This is a version of jambalaya that my sister Mariann gave to me. Very easy to make and tastes great.

Ingredients

  • 3 slices bacon
  • 1 - onion,chopped or sliced
  • 1/2 - green pepper,chopped or sliced
  • 2 - cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 - 15 ounce cans kedney beans or black beans ;drained
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 pound kielbasa
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 cups cooked rice, can use more

How To Make kielbasa,red beans and rice

  • Step 1
    In skillet brown bacon and add onion,green pepper, and garlic and saute till soft.
  • Step 2
    Add remaining ingredients except vinegar,sugar and rice, to bacon mixture in pan.
  • Step 3
    Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Stir in vinegar and sugar for last 10 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Can add cooked rice (boil 2 cups of water with 1 cup of rice till tender.)to ingredients in pan or spoon kielbasa mixture over rice on plate.
