I love grilled sandwiches, haven't actually made this version. I received this recipe in a 15-minute dinners email from allrecipes.com I thought it sounded promising and decided to share it with my Just A Pinch friends. The photo is courtesy of allrecipes.com Don

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c
    unsalted butter softrned
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 12 slice
    white or bread of choice
  • 6 slice
    mozzarellla cheese
  • 1--24 oz. jar(s)
    vodka marinara sauce

How to Make Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix garlic powder & oregano with softened butter.
    Spread seasoned butter on one side of eachbread slice.
    Place 6 slices bread buttered side down in a large skillet. cut each slice of mozzarella to fit on bread slices and place1 slice on top of each bread slice. place other 6 slices of bread on top of cheese unbuttered side against cheese. Over low to medium heat grill sandwiches as usual. When grilled to thedarkness you like, place sandwiches on plates and cut in half. Serve immediately with Vodka Marinara sauce for dipping.Hope you enjoy.
