honey/bourbon glazed ham steaks with spinach

Made this for family..said they liked it...hopefully you will too. Originally used frozen spinach but liked the fresh better

Ingredients

  • 2 - ham steaks
  • 2 cups honey
  • 1/4 cup jack daniel's
  • 1 package spinach, fresh.
  • - apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup brown sugar

How To Make honey/bourbon glazed ham steaks with spinach

  • Step 1
    Cut each ham steak in half place in glass casserole dish
  • Step 2
    Combine honey,brown sugar in small sauce pan bringing to a quick boil. Remove from heat
  • Step 3
    Add bourbon to mixture stirring until combined
  • Step 4
    Use just enough of the mixture to coat both sides of steaks .Set aside to use rest later. Cover and set aside for 15 to 20 minutes
  • Step 5
    Prepare spinach sprinkle(toss) with a little of the apple cider vinegar and set aside
  • Step 6
    Spray light. Coating of cooking spray on grilling skillet and preheat to med-high
  • Step 7
    When skillet is heated place ham steaks in skillet..try not to get to much of bourbon mixture in skillet with steaks as you just want to get grill marks to show on the steaks marking steaks on both sides
  • Step 8
    Remove steaks place on top of fresh spinach,lightly brush with rest of glaze
  • Step 9
    Serve with homemade cornbread and deviled eggs
