Stove Top


  • 1 c
    fresh beans
  • 1 c
    fresh carrots, chunked
  • 2 c
    new potatoes
  • 1/2 c
    salted butter
  • 1/2 c
    cereal cream
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1/2 c
    water or chicken broth

How to Make Hodge Podge


  1. Cover beans and carrots with salted water in a pot, bring to a boil for 30 minutes. Add potatoes, and cook for another 30 minutes.
  2. Stir in butter and cream.
  3. Whisk flour and 1/2 cup water or chicken stock. Pour over vegetables.
  4. Cook for 5 minutes to thicken sauce.
  5. Remove from stovetop and serve hot.
  6. Variations: Chunk turnip can be added when beans and carrots are added. Fresh peas can be added when potatoes are added.
