grilled cheese/avacodo/onion samo

This is an Open Face Sandwich that My mother used to make for me, my brother and sister when we were growing up. Then I made it for my children and husband. They always enjoyed it, and we still do. My youngest couldn't pronounce Sandwich so she called it Samo, this is where the word Samo comes from.

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bread
  • 6 slices american cheese
  • 2 medium avocados, haas sliced
  • 6 slices red onion (pulled apart)
  • 6 tablespoons butter (1tbsp per slice)
  • 3 pinches salt (sprinkle sparingly)
  • 3 pinches nutmeg (sprinkle sparingly)

How To Make grilled cheese/avacodo/onion samo

  • Step 1
    Butter each slice of bread on each side, Broil for 2 minutes on one side in broiler pan or cookie sheet. Pull from broiler, turn slices over, place cheese on bread 1st, sliced avocados 2nd, red onions 3rd, sprinkle salt and nutmeg sparingly on top. Place in Broiler about 5 minutes or till cheese is melted. Serve Hot great with Tomato Soup.
