This was given to me by a good friend whose parents are from Germany. I tweaked it to my liking and actually prepared this on TV for a cooking show in our area. My family all loves it and this is one of my most requested dishes to bring to family gatherings. I hope your family will love it too!

Ingredients
- 2 cups - water
- 1 Cup - sugar
- 1/2 Cup - white vinegar
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 3 tablespoons bacon grease
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2-1 pound bacon (i like maple bacon)
- 4-5 - large potatoes, any variety
- 1 - med-large onion, any flavor i like vidalia
How To Make german potatoes

Step 1Grease a two quart cassarole dish and add first 6 ingredients. While bacon is cooking, slice your potatoes about 1/4" in slices and slice the onion. Once Bacon is cooled combine the potatoes, onions and crumbled bacon into cassarole dish. Cook in a 350 degree oven for approximately 1 1/2-2 hours or till potatoes are done.
