Ingredients
- 6-8 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 pound sausage, cooked & drained
- 8 ounces sour cream
- 1/2 package onion soup mix
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
- 1 pound sauerkraut, rinsed & drained
- 1 cup buttered bread crumbs
How To Make german potato casserole

Step 1Peel and slice potatoes. Boil in salted water until tender.

Step 2Cook sausage until no longer pink and crumbles easily.

Step 3Mix sour cream, soup mix, mushroom soup, lemon juice and mustard.

Step 4Heat sauerkraut in 2 tablespoons of sausage drippings. Add kraut to sourcream mixture and stir until well blended. Stir in cooked sausage.

Step 5In 9X13-inch baking dish arrange potato slices on bottom. Pour and spread sourcream/meat mixture. Top with bread crumbs.

Step 6Bake in preheated 350-degree oven for 20-25 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
