These are, by far, the best beans I have ever eaten. Brought one night to a church gathering I absolutely fell in love and had to have the recipe. There's so much meat it qualifies as more of a main dish than a side dish and we have enjoyed it many times that way. I've added onions and hot sauce as well as dropping the butter beans (my grocery doesn't always have them) and increasing the amount of the pork and beans, depending on the tastes of the people I'm serving. I have yet to serve them and not have the recipe requested.
