We love egg rolls. but they are time consuming. I came up with this and we love it. The mixture tastes like the inside of an egg roll. The toppings we use are all optional and you can add whatever you think you would like. We like boiled egg. The French fried onions give you a bit of crunch like a fried egg roll wrapper but with less calories! The Thai Chili Sweet Sauce on top is like dipping your egg roll in the sweet sauce. You can use ground pork, turkey, shrimp or no meat at all. There are many options you could use to make it your own.

Ingredients For egg roll in a bowl

  • 1 1/2 c
    carrot, shredded
  • 1 md
    cabbage head
  • 1/2 md
    onion, shredded
  • 2 stalk
    celery, shredded
  • 2 stalk
    green onion, chopped very small
  • 1/4 c
    cilantro, optional
  • 1 lb
    turkey, ground
  • 1 Tbsp
    oil
  • 11/2 tsp
    ginger
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    garlic minced
  • 2 Tbsp
    sesame oil
  • 2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 tsp
    rice vinegar
  • 1 pinch
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    chinese five spice
  • 2 Tbsp
    hoisin sauce
  • 2
    eggs, boiled
  • thai sweet chili sauce
  • french fried onions

How To Make egg roll in a bowl

  • Veggies shredded and. chopped on a platter

    Shred your cabbage, celery, onion and carrots. Chop your green onion very small. Chop cilantro, optional to use. Can also use a little parsley
  • Ground turkey being browned in a frying pan

    Add some oil to a pan and heat. Brown the ground turkey with garlic and ginger.

    When turkey is brown, add in all the veggies, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sugar, spices and soy sauce. Season to taste.

    When veggies are done, place in a bowl and top with sliced boiled egg, crunchy fried onion rings and some Thai Sweet Chili Sauce.
