My family loves chili year round so I make many variations of the dish. This version turned out to be everyones favorite and it also won third place in a chili cook off.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground italian sausage
- 1 teaspoon salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 clove diced garlic
- 1 cup diced red bell pepper
- 1 cup diced green bell pepper
- 2 cans tomato sauce
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 can fired roasted diced tomato with garlic
- 1 package chili seasoning
- 1 can diced japelenos
- 1 teaspoon tabasco sauce
- 1 can seasoned kidney beans
- 1 can diced green chiles
How To Make dad's chili

Step 1Mix salt, pepper, and cayenne in small bowl.

Step 2Rub on both sides of ground meats, set aside for 15 minutes.

Step 3In a large pot over medium heat, brown the meat; drain.

Step 4Add remaining ingredients, except the beans, and simmer for 1 hour.

Step 5Add the beans and continue to cook for 20 minutes.

Step 6Note: For a less spicy chili, reduce the amount of cayenne pepper.
