I got this recipe from the All Recipes site. I served it at a snak supper at our church and got lots of requests for the recipe. The dressing makes the sandwich.

  • 1 c
  • 5 Tbsp
    italian dressing
  • 4
    hoagie rolls, split lengthwise
  • 4 Tbsp
    prepared mustard
  • 1/2 lb
    thinly sliced deli turkey meat
  • 1/2 lb
    thinly sliced deli ham
  • 1/2 lb
    thinly sliced swiss cheese
  • 1 c
    dill pickle slices
  • 1/2 c
    olive oil

How to Make Cuban Midnight Sandwich


  1. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and Italian dressing. Spread mixture on hoagie rolls. On each roll arrange layers of turkey, ham and cheese. Top each with dill pickle slices. Close the sandwich and brush tops and bottom with olive oil.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium high heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet. Cook for 2 minutes pressing down with a plate covered in aluminum foil. Flip and cook for 2 more minutes or until cheese is melted. Remove from heat, place on plates and cut in half diagonally.
