Although I'm not a venison eater, my family and friends say this melts in your mouth and very flavorful!

Ingredients

  • 1-2 pound venison round steaks
  • 4-5 tablespoons oil ( i use a mix of olive and canola)
  • 2-3 - celery stalks, cut in 1 inch pieces
  • 2-3 - onions, yellow, medium sliced
  • 2-3 cloves sliced garlic (to taste)
  • 1 - green bell pepper (or red) sliced
  • 1/2 pound sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 3/4 cup wine (any dry that you would drink)
  • - fresh grated orange zest
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make crock pot venison steaks

  • Step 1
    Rinse steaks well. Trim and cut into pieces. Heat oil and slightly saute steaks.
  • Step 2
    Place steaks, celery, garlic, and onions to crock pot. Mix water with vingar to make about 1 cup liquid. Pour over meat and vegetables. Cook on low about 4 hours.
  • Step 3
    Mix water and wine and add to pot, along with peppers and mushrooms. Grate some orange zest (about 2-3 tablespoons)into pot. Stir slightly. Cook about another hour or two, until meat is tender and falls apart.
  • Step 4
    Serve with rice, noodles, or just crusty bread and a salad.
