Slow Cooker Crock Pot

1-2 lb
venison round steaks
4-5 Tbsp
oil ( i use a mix of olive and canola)
celery stalks, cut in 1 inch pieces
onions, yellow, medium sliced
2-3 clove
sliced garlic (to taste)
green bell pepper (or red) sliced
1/2 lb
sliced mushrooms
1/2 c
3/4 c
wine (any dry that you would drink)
fresh grated orange zest
salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Crock pot venison steaks


  • 1Rinse steaks well. Trim and cut into pieces. Heat oil and slightly saute steaks.
  • 2Place steaks, celery, garlic, and onions to crock pot. Mix water with vingar to make about 1 cup liquid. Pour over meat and vegetables. Cook on low about 4 hours.
  • 3Mix water and wine and add to pot, along with peppers and mushrooms. Grate some orange zest (about 2-3 tablespoons)into pot. Stir slightly. Cook about another hour or two, until meat is tender and falls apart.
  • 4Serve with rice, noodles, or just crusty bread and a salad.
