I created this for my husband as he loves his baked beans. My Aunt Freida is the best baked bean maker I Know. So I took her recipe and added all my husbands' favorites in addition and came up with this Awesome baked bean recipe.

  • 1 can(s)
    ro-tel tomatoes
  • 2 lb
  • 1 lb
    breakfast sausage
  • 1 lb
    ground chuck
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/2 c
  • 2
    dry onion soup mix envelopes
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 large
    onion diced fine
  • 1/4 c
    dark molasses

How to Make Cowboy Chuckwagon Chow


  1. Preheat oven to 400^.In a large roasting pan, Pour beans into roasting pan.
  2. In a large skillet fry 1 pound of bacon. drain on paper towels and set aside to cool.
    In the same skillet fry sausage, chopped onions and ground chuck, until no longer pink. Drain off fat.
  3. Put bacon,sausage meat mixture into a food processor and chop till fine.
  4. Add meat and all ingredients to the beans. mix well. Top beans with remaining pound of raw bacon. Bake for 30 minutes.
  5. * I use Bush's Baked beans with their variety of flavors. one of each put extra mmmmmm in the beans.
