this is one of those recipes- from years ago- that my family enjoyed from toddler to adulthood-and now request often.

Ingredients

ground beef
1 can(s)
cream of mushroom soup
1 can(s)
cream of chicken soup
1
med.onion, chopped
1 c
diced celery
1/2 c
raw rice
2 c
water
1/4 c
soy sauce
dash(es)
of pepper
chow mein noodles

How to Make Chinese-American Casserole

Step-by-Step

  • 1Saute onion and ground beef til meat no longer pink.Drain
  • 2Add soups, celery, rice, water, soy sauce and pepper.stir together
  • 3Pour into greased, deep casserole dish and cover.Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours.Remove from oven
  • 4Stir, then serve over Chow mein noodles (or it can be served over steamed rice for those not caring for chow mein noodles)

    Approx. 6 servings
