this is one of those recipes- from years ago- that my family enjoyed from toddler to adulthood-and now request often.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 - med.onion, chopped
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1/2 cup raw rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • dash of pepper
  • - chow mein noodles

How To Make chinese-american casserole

  • Step 1
    Saute onion and ground beef til meat no longer pink.Drain
  • Step 2
    Add soups, celery, rice, water, soy sauce and pepper.stir together
  • Step 3
    Pour into greased, deep casserole dish and cover.Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours.Remove from oven
  • Step 4
    Stir, then serve over Chow mein noodles (or it can be served over steamed rice for those not caring for chow mein noodles) Approx. 6 servings
