Tired of not finding THE perfect flavour so I took the combined ingredients from several recipes and created my own

Ingredients

  • 1 can tomato sauce (680 ml)
  • 1 bottle sieved tomatoes, italian style (700g)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (796 ml)
  • 1 can tomato paste (156 ml)
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 pound spicy sausage (without casing), chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 can baked beans in tomato sauce (398 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon sundried tomatoes (in oil), chopped
  • 1 large can of red kidney beans (796 ml)

How To Make chili

  • Step 1
    Add ground beef to large pot and brown at medium heat. Add chopped sausage, sundried tomatoes and onion until onion is cooked and juices have almost evaporated.
  • Step 2
    Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, sieved tomatoes, tomato paste and stir well. Add spices and beans and simmer on medium/low heat for about an hour and a half.
  • Step 3
    Serve on rice or by itself with French bread. Enjoy!!
