chili (freezer meal)

this is a great make ahead and freeze meal for later on in the week or whenever you want to serve it

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 - yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 2 cans (14 oz each) diced tomatoes, not drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red papper
  • 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) red kidney beans, drained

How To Make chili (freezer meal)

  • Step 1
    In a large saucepan, brown beef and onion and add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and simmer on low 15 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Cool completely in refrigerator . Place in freezer bags and label. Freeze up to 3 months.
  • Step 3
    To serve, allow to thaw at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Place chili in saucepan with 1/4 cup water and cook on medium until heated through, stirring occasionally.
