this is a great make ahead and freeze meal for later on in the week or whenever you want to serve it

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1
    yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 2 can(s)
    (14 oz each) diced tomatoes, not drained
  • 1 can(s)
    (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp
    crushed red papper
  • 1 can(s)
    (15 oz) pinto beans, drained
  • 1 can(s)
    (15 oz) red kidney beans, drained

How to Make Chili (freezer meal)


  1. In a large saucepan, brown beef and onion and add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and simmer on low 15 minutes.
  2. Cool completely in refrigerator . Place in freezer bags and label. Freeze up to 3 months.
  3. To serve, allow to thaw at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  4. Place chili in saucepan with 1/4 cup water and cook on medium until heated through, stirring occasionally.
