Ingredients For chickpea tikki masala

  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 1 md
    jalapeno, seeded and chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    grated, ginger
  • 3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp
    Garam Marsala
  • 1 tsp
    cumin
  • 1 tsp
    Madars curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    smoked paprika
  • 3 Tbsp
    tomato paste
  • 2 can
    fire-roasted tomatoes (15 oz each)
  • 1 c
    vegetable broth
  • 1 can
    chickpeas, drained and rinsed (15 oz)
  • 1 c
    coconut cream
  • 0
    salt and pepper, to taste
  • 0
    fresh cilantro, for garnish

How To Make chickpea tikki masala

    In a large pot, add the oil. Add the onions and jalapenos and cook 5 minutes. Add the ginger and garlic and cook 2 more minutes. Stir in the seasonings. and tomato paste. Cook 1 minute.

    Place the tomatoes in a food processor and blitz for 1 minute. Add them to the pot with the vegetable broth. Bring to a low boil and reduce the heat, and cook 10 minutes.

    Add the chickpeas and coconut cream. Cook 5 more minutes. Taste and adjust for salt and pepper.

    Serve over rice or by itself. Garnish with cilantro.
