This dish is so cheesy, so easy, and so delicious! It's not the most beautiful or colorful plate of food, but it's well worth the effort.

Ingredients

  • 1 - bag of ore ida steam 'n mash russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 pound velveeta, cubed
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 1 pound kielbasa or smoked sausage

How To Make cheesy kielbasa potato casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350. Cut kielbasa (or sausage) in half lengthwise, then chop into 1/2" half-moon cuts. Brown in a frying pan over medium heat for about 10 minutes, turning frequently.
  • Step 2
    Microwave your bag of Steam 'N Mash for 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    When the meat is browned, and the potatoes are done, combine in a 2-quart casserole dish.
  • Step 4
    Mix all remaining ingredients (except for shredded sharp cheddar) into a saucepan. Whisk constantly over medium heat until warm, melted, and smooth.
  • Step 5
    Pour cheese sauce over the meat/potato mixture.
  • Step 6
    Sprinkle evenly with sharp cheddar. Bake for 30 minutes, or until bubbly. Enjoy!
