There's no need for extra condiments or garnish with these tasty hot dogs, but, if desired, serve with minced onion, relish and mustard. For a Polynesian flair, add some crushed pineapple to the bbq sauce or for extra "heat" use pepperjack cheese instead of string cheese.

How to Make Cheese-Stuffed Brown Sugar Bacon-wrapped BBQ Dogs

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with no-stick aluminum foil. Set aside.
  2. Cut a lengthwise slit in each hot dog (do not cut all the way through).
  3. Stuff 1 piece of cheese into each hot dog
  4. Drizzle equal amount of barbecue sauce over each, letting sauce seep down into cut part of hot dog.
  5. Wrap each hot dog with a slice of bacon and place on prepared baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle equal amount of brown sugar on each hot dog, pressing down lightly so brown sugar adheres.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until bacon is cooked through.
  8. Serve in rolls with extra barbecue sauce, if desired.
