I adapted this recipe when I couldn't think of any other way to prepare kielbasa than to grill it. It's sweet, a little tangy and so yummy!

prep time 15 Min
cook time 2 Hr
method ---
yield 2-4 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 - link (1 pound) polish sausage or kielbasa
  • 1/2 can lemon lime soda or ginger ale
  • 1/3 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 dashes hot sauce

How To Make candied kielbasa

  • Step 1
Cut the sausage into 1 inch chunks. In a large skillet, heat the soda until boiling. Boil the sausage in the soda until it reduces and becomes a light brown, thick glaze on the meat - about 10 minutes.
  • Step 2
Meanwhile, in a small crockpot, mix together worcertershire sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar and hot sauce.
  • Step 3
When the meat has browned slightly and is coated with the soda glaze, transfer to crockpot. Cook on high for 2 hours, or low for 4 hours.
