I found this recipe in a very old tin recipe box on top of a shelf. I remember using this recipe box back when my kids were very small, 20-25 years ago. If I remember correctly, they loved this meatloaf.

Ingredients

  • 1 can(s)
    tomato soup
  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground meat
  • 1/2 c
    dry bread crumbs
  • 1 small
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 tsp
    fresh ground black pepper
  • 1/4 c
    water

How to Make Campbell's Classic Meatloaf

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix 1/2 can soup, meat, bread crumbs, onion, egg, worcestershire sauce and pepper thoroughly. In a baking pan, shape firmly into an 8" x 4" loaf.
  2. Bake at 350 degrees one hour or until done. Should test 160 degrees on meat thermometer.
  3. In a saucepan, mix 2 tablespoons of the drippings with the remaining soup and the water. Heat to a simmer. Serve over the meat loaf.
