brocolli and rice casserole

I've been making this casserole for many years and it's always a welcome meal. It's easy and tasty.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups instant rice (i prefer uncle ben's. regular rice wont work for this recipe)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 package frozen brocolli crown cuts
  • 3/4 pound fresh sliced button mushrooms
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 1/2 stick butter or margerine
  • 12 ounces jar of cheeze whiz
  • - salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margerine

How To Make brocolli and rice casserole

  • Step 1
    Place instant rice and water in 3 quart casserole dish. Salt to taste. Dot with butter or margerine.
  • Step 2
    Top with one can of the mushroom soup.
  • Step 3
    Layer the broccoli and sliced mushrooms evenly over previous ingredients.
  • Step 4
    Add the 2nd can of mushroom soup over the broccoli and mushrooms
  • Step 5
    Top with the Cheese Whiz, spread evenly.
  • Step 6
    Cover and bake in preheated 375F degree oven for about 45 minutes. Remove cover and bake for about 15 more minutes or until cheese starts to brown.
  • Step 7
    Serve and enjoy.
