This chili is made for a crowd. It will make about 7 to 8 quarts. When made on the open pit, and a few friends are around, it is a great time.

1 lb
dried pinto beans
5 qt
homemade tomatoes, un-drained
1 qt
homemade tomato juice
1 (6-oz) can(s)
tomato paste
1 c
water
3 tsp
beef granules
3 large
yellow onions, chopped
8 to 10 Tbsp
chili powder
2 Tbsp
ground cumin
1 1/2 Tbsp
oregano, dried
4 to 5 clove
garlic, minced
2 Tbsp
lime juice
1 1/2 Tbsp
salt
1 Tbsp
black pepper
1 Tbsp
ground sweet paprika
2 to 3 tsp
red pepper flakes
1 to 2 medium
jalapeno peppers, finely chopped (optional)

How to Make BOB'S HOMEMADE CHILI

Step-by-Step

  • 1Brown beef, in a large pot, with onions and garlic until beef is no longer pink. Drain. Cook pinto beans about halfway, drained. Put cooked beef, onions and garlic in a 5 gallon pot or larger. Place pot on burner or outside fire pit and bring to a boil. Add remaining ingredients to pot, reduce heat and cover. Simmer for about 1 hour, add pinto beans and continue to simmer about 2 hours longer or until consistency.
