  • 4
    lamb shanks
  • 2 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 2
    onions, sliced
  • 3/4 c
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 2 tsp
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c
    cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tsp
    prepared mustard
  • dash(es)

How to Make Barbecued Lamb Shanks


  1. Brown the shanks in oil in a heavy pot or dutch oven. Pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for about 2 hours, spooning some of the sauce over the meat several times during the cooking. If desired, shanks can be baked, covered, in the oven (350) for about 2 hours.
  2. These are really good served with rice.
