I tried this recipe that my friend had given me a while back and this is pretty much the only way that my husband and I like hot dogs now :)

Ingredients For barbecued hot dogs

  • 6
    hot dogs
  • 2 Tbsp
    shortening (i used butter instead and it turned out fine)
  • 1/3 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp
    paprika
  • 1 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 2 Tbsp
    vinegar (i used apple cider)
  • 3 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    ketchup

How To Make barbecued hot dogs

    Split 6 hotdogs lengthwise. Place in greased 9x13" Pan.

    Melt 2 Tbsp. shortening, add onion, simmer till tender. Then add: paprika, dry mustard, vinegar, worcestershire, pepper, sugar and ketchup. Simmer for 2 minutes . Pour over hot dogs and cook at 400* for 20 minutes.
