apples sweet onion and sausage
We love the interesting flavors in this dish. A green vegetable makes a complimentary side. Something like fresh brussel sprouts, green beans, or asparagus.

How To Make apples sweet onion and sausage
-
Step 1Heat a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, add the oil. When the oil is hot, add the sausages and brown them all over. That takes about 7 minutes.
-
Step 2Add the sliced onions, season lightly with salt, and give it a stir. Brown the onions, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes or so.
-
Step 3Add the sprig of rosemary, 1/2 cup of water, and the apple cider vinegar. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook until the onions are wilted, about another 5 minutes.
-
Step 4Add the sliced apples (I slice them just prior to adding them to the pan, so they don't turn brown.) Add the remaining 1/2 cup of water. Bring to a simmer, replace the lid, but don't put it on tight, leave it slightly cocked, and cook until the apples are tender, about 15 minutes.
-
Step 5Uncover the pan, and continue to simmer until the juices reduce. Another 5 minutes. Remove the stem from the rosemary. Give a stir, and place in a serving dish!
-
Step 6Enjoy!
