amish beef and cheese one dish casserole
This is a recipe from my cookbook called "Amish Cooking", compiled by a Committee of Amish Women, Deluxe Edition. This is under their "one dish meals and casseroles" section. This reminds me of a baked spaghetti dish or goulash type of meal.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups uncooked spaghetti
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup grated cheese
- 1 cup tomatoes, diced
- - seasoning to taste (i use garlic powder, sea salt and pepper)
How To Make amish beef and cheese one dish casserole

Step 1Cook the spaghetti until it is tender, then drain it. In a skillet, brown the beef and onion in the butter. Add the flour, milk and seasonings to taste, cook it til it thickens.

Step 2Mix half a cup of the cheese with the spaghetti and place 1/2 of the spaghetti in a baking dish. Add the meat mixture, top it with the tomatoes, and add the rest of the spaghetti. Top with the remaining cheese and bake it at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
