7-Layer Casserole

Simply layer the ingredients and let your oven do the work..and it is delicious to boot!

1 c
uncooked rice, washed and drained
1 c
whole kernal corn, drained
2 can(s)
tomato sauce*
1/2 c
each, finely chopped onion and green pepper
3/4 lb
uncooked ground beef
4 slice
bacon, cut in half
salt, pepper*

1Heat oven to 350. Layer ingredients in 2-quart casserole with tight-fitting lid.
2After corn is added, sprinkle with salt and pepper and pour one can of the tomato sauce and 1/2 cup of the water.
3After meat is added, sprinkle again with salt and pepper. Pour second can of tomato sauce and remaining 1/4 cup of water. Top this with the bacon slices. Cover and bake for 1 hour. Uncover and bake about 30 minutes longer, or until bacon is crisped.
