Simply layer the ingredients and let your oven do the work..and it is delicious to boot!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked rice, washed and drained
  • 1 cup whole kernal corn, drained
  • 2 cans tomato sauce*
  • 1/2 cup each, finely chopped onion and green pepper
  • 3/4 pound uncooked ground beef
  • 4 slices bacon, cut in half
  • - salt, pepper*
  • 3/4 cup water*

How To Make 7-layer casserole

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 350. Layer ingredients in 2-quart casserole with tight-fitting lid.
  • Step 2
    After corn is added, sprinkle with salt and pepper and pour one can of the tomato sauce and 1/2 cup of the water.
  • Step 3
    After meat is added, sprinkle again with salt and pepper. Pour second can of tomato sauce and remaining 1/4 cup of water. Top this with the bacon slices. Cover and bake for 1 hour. Uncover and bake about 30 minutes longer, or until bacon is crisped.
