My family begs for me to make this chili even before we have our first cool weather. I have made huge pots of this chili to serve friends for our fall roundup and it is always a winner.

Ingredients

  • 2-1/4 lb
    ground beef chuck
  • 8 oz
    french onion au jus (concentrated sauce)
  • 1 Tbsp
    cocoa
  • 14 1/2 oz
    petite diced tomatoes
  • 16 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 tsp
    smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp
    sea salt
  • 1 c
    store bought salsa - mild
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced jalapenos
  • 1 c
    water
  • 12 oz
    coca cola
  • 30 oz
    chili beans
  • ·
    garnish: shredded cheese, sour cream

How to Make Throw Down Roundup Chili

Step-by-Step

  1. In Dutch oven over medium-high heat, brown ground beef. Using potato masher, break beef into small pieces while it is browning. When brown, drain all the grease.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients mixing well.
  3. Cook over medium heat for one hour stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve in heated bowls and garnish with shredded cheese and sour cream, if desired.
