My family begs for me to make this chili even before we have our first cool weather. I have made huge pots of this chili to serve friends for our fall roundup and it is always a winner.

Ingredients

  • 2-1/4 pound ground beef chuck
  • 8 ounces french onion au jus (concentrated sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 14 1/2 ounces petite diced tomatoes
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup store bought salsa - mild
  • 1 tablespoon minced jalapenos
  • 1 cup water
  • 12 ounces coca cola
  • 30 ounces chili beans
  • 0 - garnish: shredded cheese, sour cream

How To Make throw down roundup chili

  • Step 1
    In Dutch oven over medium-high heat, brown ground beef. Using potato masher, break beef into small pieces while it is browning. When brown, drain all the grease.
  • Step 2
    Add the remaining ingredients mixing well.
  • Step 3
    Cook over medium heat for one hour stirring occasionally.
  • Step 4
    Serve in heated bowls and garnish with shredded cheese and sour cream, if desired.
