  • 3/4 cup herdez salsa - i like hot but use whatever you like. if they don't carry it in your area substitute a thick salsa
  • 1/4 cup onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup poblano pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup black olives, halved

How To Make tex-mex pizza

  • Step 1
Stir sugar in warm water. Add yeast. In a separate bowl combine 2 1/2 cups flour, salt, garlic powder dry oregano. I use a kitchen aid mixer and the dough hook add olive oil. Add flour and spice mixture and additional flour until dough pulls away from mixing bowl. Cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
  • Step 2
While dough is rising I prepare my toppings. Cook chorizo in a medium skillet on medium high until done. Shred cheeses, and slice veggies.
  • Step 3
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Spray 14" pizza pan with cooking spray. Spread dough into pan. Spread salsa over pizza dough. Then chorizo and veggies. Then Cheeses. Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Step 4
Note: If you like a crispy crust, place in oven for 10 minutes before adding sauce and toppings. Then add sauce and toppings and bake another 10 minutes.
